In a Tribeca penthouse where every square foot commands a premium, we transformed a cramped, outdated bathroom into a wellness sanctuary featuring a custom steam shower. The owners—both executives who travel extensively—wanted the rejuvenating experience of a luxury hotel spa in their own home. The design maximizes the 7x10 space with floor-to-ceiling large-format porcelain panels (3x10 feet each) that eliminate grout lines and create a seamless, spa-like atmosphere. The steam shower features a built-in teak bench, recessed niche with LED lighting, and a Mr. Steam system with chromotherapy. The vapor-sealed enclosure uses ultra-clear low-iron glass for maximum transparency. Special attention went to ventilation and moisture control—essential in a high-rise environment. A Panasonic WhisperGreen exhaust system removes humidity while maintaining whisper-quiet operation. The heated floors, towel warmer, and integrated sound system complete the spa experience. Project duration: 5 weeks.
